Dr. John DeVries, DVM

Dr. DeVries graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. He founded DeVries Animal Hospital in 1987 at 475 Spring Road in Elmhurst. The practice moved to 528 Spring Road in 1989 to accommodate its growth and to provide better service to clients and patients. He resides in Elmhurst with his wife and four children, and is actively involved in the community. He served on the Elmhurst Zoning and Planning Commission for 10 years. He is involved in the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce, has served on the District 205 Foundation for Educational Excellence, and is an active member of the Spring Road Business Association.  A lifelong resident of Elmhurst, he currently serves on the board of the Elmhurst Heritage Foundation.   He is the organizer of the annual Spring Road Pet Parade. He has practiced veterinary medicine since 1984 and still greatly enjoys his occupation. He strives to keep up with the new medical advances by attending 45 hours of continuing education each year. In his spare time he enjoys traveling with his family, singing barbershop music and playing bells in the church hand bell choir. He is a weekend warrior in his workshop where his best friends are named DeWalt, Makita, and Stanley.  He is the proud owner of a Shih Tzu named "Cricket" and a Border/Boston terrier mix named "Gizmo" 
  

 

 

Dr. Anne Lannon, DVM

Dr. Lannon graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine and completed her residency in Medical Genetics and Reproduction at the University of Pennsylvania. She has been in clinical practice for 23 years, including 3 years as Director of Canine Health with the Guide Dogs for the Blind in San Rafael, California. She has been on staff at DeVries Animal Hospital since 2001. She travels regularly to lecture on topics related to canine genetics and reproduction. She most recently served for 3 months as a visiting professor at the University of Florida, teaching senior veterinary students clinical genetics and companion animal practice. Dr. Lannon shares her home with her husband and her dogs Trevor and Barney. In her spare time, Dr. Lannon enjoys sailing with her husband and spending time with her pets.

 

 

 

Dr. Kathleen Meyers, DVM

Dr. Meyers also graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine and has been in practice since 1998. Originally from Westchester, Illinois, she first practiced in Valparaiso, Indiana. She returned to the Chicago area and has been on staff at DeVries Animal Hospital since January, 2001. She owns a lively mixed breed dog named Rufus. She and her husband, a computer consultant, keep very busy raising their five daughters and one son. 

 

 

 Dr. Julie Daly, DVM

Dr. Daly is a native of eastern Iowa and graduated from Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine. She has practiced in the Chicago area since graduation, most recently in the far western suburbs. She has a strong background in dentistry and surgery. When not practicing medicine she keeps busy with her family which include her husband, two children, a dog and cat.   Her hobbies include reading, gardening, and camping.

Our On-Call veterinarians:

 Dr. Vince Staniskis, DVM

Dr. Staniskis is a valuable addition to our veterinarian team with over 20 years of practice experience, most recently in the western suburbs.  His knowledge and experience are appreciated by both patients and clients.  He is fluent in Lithuanian, and enjoys sharing his cultural heritage with others.  In his spare time he enjoys singing in a Lithuanian choir.  His hobbies include his children and being a soccer dad. 

 

Dr. Angie Kovalick

 Dr. Kovalick has been providing relief services for DeVries Animal Hospital since 2006.  She is always well liked with her no nonsense approach to cases, offering clients compassionate care for their pets.  She lives in Kane County on a pumpkin farm and has two adult children.

 

 

Dr. Rosemarie Niznik has been a part of our relief veterinarian team since 2009 providing capable and reliable veterinary care for our patients.  She is working towards certification in acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine.  She resides in the western suburbs with her Bernese Mountain Dog named Grace.

 

 Dr. Melissa Trupia

Dr. Trupia is a recent addition to our relief veterinarian team, coming to us after practicing in Chicago for over 15 years.  She lives in the western suburbs.  When she is not working she keeps busy running after her three very active children.
